When Nike debuted the Shox system in the year 2000 it felt like the future was here.
The idea popped into the mind of Bruce Kilgore—the man behind the Air Force 1—all the way back in 1984. For 16 years Nike experimented with the concept of a spring system but it wasn't until the new millennium that they released the first Shox shoe.
Although released initially aimed at runners, when Team USA's Vince Carter dunked over French 7'2" center Frédéric Weis in his signature Shox BB4 the tech took centre stage.
The Shox TL brought the quirky suspension system to the whole midsole, incorporating multiple points of contact for a responsive feel. Finished in a very Jurassic Park looking colourway, the Women's Shox TL gives everyone a chance to re-live this unique period in Nike history.
